University Housing in Turkey

Accommodation is one of the biggest concerns for students arriving to study in Turkey. The country offers several types of housing to suit different budgets and needs.

State housing (KYK)

Provided by Turkey's Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) at a very low cost to students enrolled at Turkish universities.

Cost: TRY 450 - 750 per month, plus a deposit of TRY 855 - 1,365

Advantages

Far cheaper than any other type of housing

Complete independence and privacy
Freedom to choose the location and the size
You can share with others to cut the cost

Disadvantages

Expensive, especially in the larger cities
You need a deposit and a tenancy agreement
Bills and maintenance are your responsibility
